What is the Good Samaritan Fund?

In the late 1990's and early 2000's several Caro area churches decided to work together to help those in need. Now it has grown to include 18 area churches that prayerfully and financially support it.

What Does the Good Samaritans Helps With?

The Good Samaritan Fund has two parts.

One that helps people who have received shut off notices or have other serious Financial needs. The second part is the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. With the help of the community the food pantry has been able to expand its' services to families living in Tuscola County.

Where is the Good Samaritan Fund Located?

The Food Pantry is located on the lower level of the Caro United Methodist Church

The Good Samaritan Food Panty

The Food Pantry is an emergency food pantry that is open to Tuscola County residence. It is open on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9am until noon year round. Families may receive a three day supply of food (based on their family size) every month. You will need a driver's license, or your Michigan ID card.

What You Will Need for Financial Help

You must call (989) 673-6929 for an appointment on Tuesday from 9:30 am until 12 noon.

A Decision letter from Department of Human Services

Proof of your residence
(Michigan driver's license or Michigan ID)

Proof of Your Need
Some examples of proof of need are:
Court eviction notice for rent
Shut-off notice for gas, electric, water
Name & phone number of company for deliverable heating fuel.
